25. Severn Cullis - Suzuki's fantastic speech

Severn Cullis-Suzuki's speech called "The 12-year-old girl that silenced the world for 6 minutes", given within United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, 3 -14 June 1992.
She says: "We are a group of 12 and 13 year olds trying to make a difference...We've raised all the money to come here ourselves, to come 5000 miles to tell you, adults, you must change your ways...I am fighting for my future...I am here to speak for all the generations to come..."
This fantastic speech, that you can watch on our blog as well as on YouTube, was very inspirational for planning part of our aces school partnership project on volunteering. A child speaking to adults trying desperately to get them aware of human beings destroying our world and asking them for help, to stop is an excellent starting point.

Thank you, Severn, for your involvement.
